William Gauvin, of Andover, Massachusetts, has pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography for soliciting a 17-year-old boy to engage in sexually explicit conduct over Skype. He later paid the teen more than $3,000 using PayPal.
The hometown of the teenager has not been released.
Between October 2016 and March last year, Gauvin, using the name “Will Wiggins,” solicited the teenager, John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, said. In exchange for the minor victim sending him visual depictions of the sexual acts, Gauvin paid him online.
According to documents and statements made in court, Gauvin also asked the teen to persuade his 15-year-old brother to engage in similar sexually explicit conduct in exchange for more money. Durham noted that Gauvin lived in Worcester at the time of the lewd acts. He was arrested on Nov. 1 last year.
Gauvin was released on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20 for sentencing, when he will face a term of between five and 20 years in prison.
